Zaryadye park is the first major new park built in Moscow in last 50 years. The park is located by the Moscow river near the Red Square and the Kremlin.
On June 18 in the Shukhov Lab, Max Malein, one of the architects involved in Zaryadye park, will share his experience of being part of the team that designed and implemented the project.
The lecture will be dedicated to innovative and cutting edge technical solutions that were used during the building process. Which ideas of Diller Scofidio + Renfro were eventually realized? And which ones did the architects have to give up? How does the park work and what is actually hidden under its green hills and glass roof? Together with Max Malein we will discuss landscape and facade solutions, additional climate systems, pixel paving, ‘floating bridge’, ‘glass cortex’ and the Philharmonic that are all part of the most ambitious architectural project in today’s Moscow.
Maxim Malein is a freelance architect and expert in computational design. In Zaryadye park project he was responsible for the design and implementation of the pavilions’ facades. He also developed a parametric layout of paving and worked on some of the interiors of the Philharmonic.
