Shukhov lab is launching a lecture series with Russian and foreign leading experts from the field of new technologies and urbanism.
On 6 April 2018 Shukhov Lab is launching a series of lectures with leading Russian and international experts in new technologies and urbanism. The series begin with a lecture dedicated to robotic and advanced construction by Alexandre Dubor, architect, researcher, specialist in digital and robotic fabrication (IAAC, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia).
In the context of demographic explosion, resource scarcity and global warming, the construction sector needs to evolve towards faster, cleaner, more efficient and customizable building systems. Today the Industry 4.0 promises groundbreaking technologies, such as robotics, advanced materials, computational design, AI and cyber physical systems that could potentially transform the way we design, build and inhabit our cities tomorrow.
With 10 years of experience in these fields, IAAC has shown potential in creating and developing instruments for sustainable built environment that lie at the intersection of design, engineering and construction. In his lecture Alexandre Dubor will demonstrate some of the key projects conceptualised and prototyped at IAAC.
